This Kiss

A Couples Camp Encounter

This Kiss

A small invitation to slow down, move beyond the routine peck, and enjoy a meaningful moment of connection.

Most married couples kiss regularly—but many of those kisses happen quickly and automatically. A goodbye kiss. A hello kiss. A kiss given while one of you is already thinking about what comes next.

This encounter is an invitation to pause and let a kiss become a moment. You may feel a little awkward at first, and that is completely okay. Awkward does not mean something is wrong. It may simply mean you are slowing down long enough to truly notice one another.

The Six-Second Kiss Challenge

Stand close, look at one another, and take a breath. When you are both ready, press the button and share one unhurried six-second kiss. There is nothing to perform and nothing to prove—simply be present.

6

Take your time. Begin when you are both ready.

Consent and comfort matter. Either spouse may pause, laugh, reset, or choose another form of affectionate connection.

Talk About This Kiss

Stay close for another moment and choose two or three questions to discuss. Listen with curiosity rather than trying to give the perfect answer.

1

What did you notice or feel when we slowed the kiss down?

2

What helps affection between us feel natural, safe, and meaningful?

3

When do you feel most wanted, chosen, or pursued by me?

4

Has the way we show affection changed during different seasons of marriage?

5

What is one simple way we could be more intentional about affection this week?

6

What do you hope a kiss from you communicates to me?

One more before you go?

End this encounter with another six-second kiss—this time without watching the clock. Let it say, “I still see you. I still choose you.”
