PRAY Together
A simple pattern for praying with one another.
A Simple Way to Pray Together
Many couples pray for one another but do not always pray with one another. PRAY gives you a simple pattern you can use today and remember anytime.
Turn Your Attention Toward God
Take turns thanking God for who He is and for something He has done.
Take turns praying before continuing.
Thank God for Your Spouse
Let your spouse hear you thank God for something you value or appreciate about them.
Take turns praying your appreciation to God.
Share What Is on Your Hearts
Ask one another, “What would you like us to pray about together?” Listen without correcting, fixing, or offering advice.
These requests will remain visible while you pray.
Bring Your Requests to God
Take turns praying for the request your spouse shared. You do not need to solve it. Simply place it into God’s care.
Trust God With What Comes Next
Some prayers are answered quickly. Others require patience and a season of waiting. End by placing both the need and the outcome into God’s hands.
First Person and Second Person Prayed Together
Send a copy of what you wrote to one or both of you so your prayer notes are not lost.
